Negligence while at work is a serious case, which is why a nurse attorney is needed if you get accused of this kind of scenario. However, some individuals who believed they were guilty of the accusations chose not to acquire the services of a nurse attorney because they felt their RN or LVN licenses were already doomed. But that is not entirely the case, as there is still hope.

Alleged Incident: RN Inaccurately Documented Administered Oral Doses

On or about November 22. 2018 through November 23, 201 8, while employed as a Staff  Nurse, the RN  inaccurately documented that he administered three (3) oral doses of Lactulose 20g/30ml in 60mI to the patient. when the patient was unable to swallow medication orally due to his altered mental status. The RN’s conduct created an inaccurate medical record and was likely to injure the patient, as subsequent caregivers would rely on his documentation to provide further care.

On or about November 22, 2018, through November 23, 2018, the RN failed to notify and/or document the notification of the physician when the patient was unable to take Lactulose orally due to his altered mental status. The RN’s conduct deprived the physician of the opportunity to institute timely medical interventions to stabilize the patient.

In response, the RN stated he scanned the Lactulose and attempted to administer it, but the patient did not arouse. The RN states there was a documentation error because the record was not updated to indicate the medication was not actually given.

The Texas Board of Nursing (BON) has full jurisdiction over all cases regarding errors committed by an RN or LVN. Thus, he was called by the Board to defend himself against the allegations. However, the RN was not able to properly present herself to the Board.
