Holding an RN license in Texas comes with certain obligations and responsibilities. In response, RN states he clearly explained his intentions to staff and stepped into the hallway in hopes the patient would vacate the area. RN relates that as he was walking towards the patient, the patient did an about face, causing their bodies to collide.
The above action constitutes grounds for disciplinary action in accordance with Section 301.452(b)(10)&(13), Texas Occupations Code, and is a violation of 22 TEX. ADMIN. CODE §217.11(1)(A)&(1)(B) and 22 TEX. ADMIN. CODE §217.12(1)(A), (1)(B),(4),(6)(C)&(6)(F).
However, without enough evidence to prove he’s not guilty, the RN lost the case. This is the reason why the Texas Board of Nursing placed his RN license under disciplinary action.
