False allegations are one of the common cases that a nurse attorney typically resolves. These professionals can guarantee their clients that any false accusations over them can be denied over the Texas Board of Nursing once you hire them for assistance. Sadly, a nurse in Houston failed to do so.

On February 17, 2017, the LVN was assigned to provide nursing care to a patient. However, he lacked the fitness to practice nursing as she was sleeping while on duty. Additionally, she admitted to the staff that she was dozing off while at work.

The same incident happened on June 14, 2017, when she was advised to provide nursing care to another patient. She lacked the fitness once again to practice nursing as she was caught dozing off two times while on duty.

The LVN’s actions could have caused further injury to the patient, or they may suffer from adverse effects that could be life-threatening. Furthermore, her lack of fitness to practice nursing may adversely affect her ability to notice signs and symptoms, as well as provide accurate treatment for the patient. Therefore, her lack of fitness may cause potential danger to the patient if neglected.

That’s why the Texas Board of Nursing summoned her for a hearing regarding the two incidents where she was sleeping at work. She stated that she just closed her eyes for five minutes while on duty on February 17, 2017. She also stated that allegations against her were false, particularly on the incident on June 14, 2017, where she stated that she was actually meditating.

The Texas Board of Nursing then checked further if she was telling the truth. Eventually, they provided a warning for disciplinary action to the LVN to ensure that she will never commit such incidents in the future. However, the case could have been assisted by a nurse attorney to ensure further safety for the career.
