At the time of the incident, an LVN was employed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at a Healthcare Facility

It was on or about January 8, 2020, the LVN could not locate the Marinol narcotic sheet for the patient, and subsequently created a new narcotic sheet for the Marinol and forged employees’ signatures on it. Furthermore, the LVN did not report the missing narcotic sheet to her supervisor. The LVN’s conduct was deceptive and created an inaccurate narcotic sheet.
In regards to the incident, the RN states that on January 8, 2020, a Mediation Aide informed her the Marinol narcotic count sheet was missing. The LVN relates she panicked and was terrified of what her DON would say or do, so she got a blank narcotic sheet and filled it out since all the narcotics were accounted for. The LVN states that a couple of hours later, the narcotic sheet was found and correlated with the number of narcotics inside the bottle.
This became a problem for the LVN, due to the incident; the Texas Board of Nursing had placed the LVN into disciplinary action. This had to happen as the LVN had failed to hire a nurse attorney as legal counsel before facing the Texas Board of Nursing.
