It’s best to seek the help of a nurse attorney when facing different complaints and allegations. However, some nurses tend to face these results instead without thinking that nurse attorneys are always reliable for matters such as these.

On or about April 7, 2017, while employed as a Staff Nurse in a hospital in Houston, the LVN failed to ensure current lab results were available to measure the amount of Venetoclax in the blood serum of a patient, prior to administration of another dose of the Venetoclax. The LVN’s conduct was likely to injure the patient from adverse effects due to possible overdosage of medication and placed the patient at risk for the development of Tumor Lysis Syndrome.

Because of this, a complaint was filed against the LVN.

The Texas Board of Nursing sent a letter to the LVN regarding the issue so then she can have the chance to defend herself. During the hearing, the LVN states that the laboratory results for the previous day were reviewed as she assumed those listed results were the most current.

However, she was not able to provide a good defense for herself. Therefore, the Board placed her LVN license to a disciplinary action instead.
