It’s best to seek the help of a nurse attorney when facing different complaints and allegations. However, some nurses tend to face these results instead without thinking that nurse attorneys are always reliable for matters such as these.

On or about July 31, 2017, while employed as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Director of Nurses (DON) in a medical facility in Houston, the RN failed to implement additional approaches of interventions for a patient after he was discovered in a female resident’s room and had multiple instances of inappropriate behaviors with other male residents and staff. The patient sexually assaulted a female resident eight days later. Her conduct unnecessarily exposed the residents to a risk of harm and may have contributed to the sexual assault of a female resident.

The Texas Board of Nursing sent a letter to the RN regarding the issue so then she can have the chance to defend herself. During the hearing, the RN states the facility routinely admitted and provided care for registered sex offenders, but they did not have a policy in place to screen new residents. She further states the RN had been complaining of severe urinary urgency and frequency, and when the patient was discovered he stated he had to use the restroom immediately. The RN states the patient was counseled on where restrooms were available and were told he was not to enter a female resident’s room.

If you ever undergo cases such as this, it’s best to seek the assistance of a good nurse attorney as it could make the case better in your favor. Be sure to find a nurse attorney who’s experienced and knowledgeable in several nurse cases to ensure the best assistance possible.
