Accusations are stressful issues for an RN or LVN, except when a skilled nurse attorney assists you against the case. The Texas Board of Nurses is responsible for all hearings against RNs and LVNs undergoing a case that may revoke suspend or only discipline their license. Take note that nurse attorneys can also defend a nurse’s license against accusations.
On or about May 18, 2017, May 24, 2017, June 7, 2017, and June 10, 2017, while employed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in a medical facility in San Antonio, the LVN accidentally took home and later returned to the facility several tablets of Norco 5/325mg from four different patients. The LVN notified her immediate supervisor regarding these events.
The LVN was summoned before the Board to defend against the case. As a defense to the accusations filed against her, the LVN states she administered medications to the patients pursuant to physicians’ orders, however she acknowledges the possibility that there may have been an occasion for a documentation discrepancy.
The LVN further denies she misappropriated any medications because she never permanently deprived the subjects of medications. The LVN adamantly denies she withdrew the Hydrocodone and consumed same.
The Texas Board of Nursing then subjected the LVN and her license into disciplinary action. The accusation would have been defended by an experienced and skilled nurse attorney, had the LVN hired one. Hiring a nurse attorney for defense is applicable for any kind of accusation laid against an RN or LVN.
